Paintings, drawings and a few photographic collages by Gary Leyland.
This year, as well as painting and photographs, I am showing some works produced using digital image manipulation software. As technology advances then the degree of complexity and control over the viewed and printed images allow for exciting possibilities.
I'm using Corel's Painter X program and Adobe Photoshop CS to create images from scratch and to manipulate and work over digital photographs and other content. It is very much like using traditional artists' print techniques such as screen printing and etching but with an immediacy that is interesting to work with. Also, these methods allows for working on creative projects at home without having to impact too much on the rest of the family.
